Gene Thompson III
President & CEO
Gene Thompson has been with InterLinc since 2007. In that time, his dynamic combination of sales, real estate and industry experience has allowed him to rise through the ranks and serve as President starting in 2010 and now President and CEO as of 2021. His vision for InterLinc is scalable, strategic growth while focusing on leadership, operational excellence and a promise of a service without exception mortgage experience for all of InterLinc’s borrowers and industry partners. Gene’s big goals and aspirations are positioning InterLinc competitively for exciting growth in the years to come. Gene is married to his wife, Amy, and is a proud dad to two children. Outside of work, he can be found in the outdoors either hunting or fishing.
Senior Vice President
With nearly two decades of experience in the mortgage industry, James Durham oversees branch performance, as well as recruitment of future InterLinc team members. Having been with InterLinc since 2014, James has been a driving force behind InterLinc’s growth and expansion into new markets, and his credibility and character have allowed InterLinc to recruit and retain some of the best talent in the industry. His goal for new production teams is to provide expert mentorship and coaching to help each branch and originator in our family reach goals beyond what they could ever imagine. In his free time, James can be found in the outdoors or spending quality time with his family.
Chief Operations Officer
As a seasoned mortgage executive with over 20 years of experience in Operations, Sales and Compliance, Kara Lamphere brings a dynamic skillset to InterLinc Mortgage. Starting out as a bank teller in college, Kara worked through the ranks to become a highly successful leader at some of the nation’s largest mortgage lenders. Since joining InterLinc, Kara has spearheaded efforts to create more efficiencies across Operations & Compliance that provide more support to Production teams. Her goals for the future at InterLinc include advancing technology and people. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, practicing yoga, hiking and reading.
EVP Capital Markets
Jason Baker oversees the secondary and Capital Markets efforts of the organization, including investor relations, loan trading, hedging, pricing strategies, product development and servicing. Prior to joining InterLinc Mortgage, Baker held positions at many other large lenders. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Utah State University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. In 2001, he earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management. Baker is married with four children and enjoys skiing, snowboarding and traveling.
Chief Financial Officer
David Scheiderich leverages his decades of experience in mortgage banking to oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, servicing and warehouse lending at Interlinc Mortgage. Since joining the company, he has been integral to the company’s growth by maximizing profits, managing expenses and identifying shortfalls inside the organization. David is passionate about daily being part of individuals achieving the American dream of homeownership. He enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and golfing.
National Underwriting Manager
Liz has been in the mortgage industry for over 30 years and currently serves as the National Underwriting Manager for InterLinc. She finds great satisfaction in overseeing and helping new Loan Originators through their first few deals and being part of each homebuyer hearing the words “you are approved”. Liz calls Tennessee home and is the proud mother of 3 and grandmother of 2. She loves spending time outdoors hiking and fishing.
